Jacuzzi: A Legacy Built on Wellness

Jacuzzi: A Legacy Built on Wellness

From an immigrant family of engineers to the world’s most recognized wellness brand, Jacuzzi’s story keeps circling back to one idea: helping people feel better.

Trust isn’t given. It’s earned. And it’s rare for a product name to become synonymous with an entire category. But that’s exactly what Jacuzzi has done, one relationship, one innovation, and one act of care at a time.

The story starts in the early 20th century, when seven Italian brothers arrived in California and began building a new life through invention. As immigrants with a restless entrepreneurial spirit, they applied their engineering knowledge wherever they saw a problem worth solving, from aviation to agriculture, propellers to pumps. That same instinct would go on to define the Jacuzzi name forever.

In the 1950s, Candido Jacuzzi’s young son, Ken, was living with rheumatoid arthritis. Hospital visits for hydrotherapy brought him relief, and Candido, looking at the technology his family had spent years refining, now through the eyes of a father, saw a way to bring that relief home. The result was a pump that moved water directly into the family bathtub, giving Ken comfort, mobility, and a newfound freedom. That act of care, born from the J-300™ pump, brought hydrotherapy out of the clinical setting and into everyday life, sparking the experience people know and love today.

“Restorative.” That’s the word Erica Moir, Jacuzzi’s SVP of Product and Design, uses to describe the brand today. “When customers buy Jacuzzi, they’re buying far more than a hot tub,” Moir said. “They’re investing in a lifestyle centered around wellness and connectivity.”

What began as a father’s invention has become a full philosophy of wellness. Jacuzzi customers aren’t just buying a hot tub, they’re investing in a lifestyle built around wellness, connection, and elevating everyday life at home. As the brand has grown, so has the depth of the experience: features like the soundscapes built into the new J-5™ Collection turn a soak into something closer to a spa visit than a backyard fixture.

That evolution shows up throughout the product line. Jacuzzi’s new True Water® system injects trillions of oxygen-filled nanobubbles into the water, reducing the need for traditional chemicals. SmartTub™ technology brings remote monitoring and sensing to ownership, and on the manufacturing side, a newly implemented AI-powered infrared sensor detects leaks before products ever leave the facility — quality control built in at every stage of the production cycle.

Nowhere is that forward motion clearer than in Jacuzzi’s latest hydrotherapy breakthrough: the first-ever underwater application of infrared and red light therapy, delivered through a 20-minute session designed to work deeper into the muscles than heat alone.

Dealers see the impact of that innovation firsthand. David Ghiz, owner of Imagine Backyard Living and a Jacuzzi® dealer for years, has watched customers return again and again for their second, third, and fourth Jacuzzi product, a loyalty he credits to the product’s performance, power, and consistency.

Beyond hot tubs, Jacuzzi’s wellness lineup now spans swim spas, saunas, cold plunges, and massage chairs; a full ecosystem for however someone chooses to de-stress and reconnect. It’s a mission with a clear throughline: from a father easing his son’s pain to an AI-monitored production line delivering infrared therapy underwater, Jacuzzi has spent decades pursuing one goal — improving people’s lives — with an eye toward becoming the world’s most recognized and trusted wellness brand.
