The shift to electric vehicles marks a significant milestone for the brand. Lotus is now one step closer to realising its Vision80 strategy, initially unveiled in 2018, which ambitiously aims to transform Lotus into a premium global all-electric luxury technology brand by 2028.
Lotus has meticulously crafted electric vehicles poised to redefine automotive excellence by bringing together over 75 years of engineering prowess with state-of-the-art technologies. Among its groundbreaking offerings include its electric hypercar, Evija; electric hyper-SUV, Eletre; and electric hyper-GT, Emeya – all strategically designed to propel the transition to electrification.
Notably, Lotus has taken strides toward integrating sustainable design and materials into its vehicle designs. By leveraging the expertise in aerodynamics, Lotus ensures optimal performance of the vehicles and maximum efficiency from the electric drivetrains. Vehicles are also equipped with repurposed fibres and vehicle recyclability is around 90%.
Lotus’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its product lineup. The Company has invested in developing fast-charging solutions, including a DC fast charger offering up to 450kW, alongside solar storage supercharging technology aimed at promoting renewable energy utilisation.
In order to align with global sustainability targets, Lotus has set its sights on achieving carbon neutrality by 2038, two years ahead of The Climate Pledge.
By promoting renewable energy for the Lotus Global Smart Factory, which is owned by Geely Holding Group, and implementing innovative measures such as rainwater harvesting and solar power generation, Lotus is actively reducing its environmental footprint.
Alexious Lee, Lotus’s ESG Committee Chairman, emphasises the Company’s holistic approach to sustainability. Lee underscores the significance of considering the entire lifecycle impact of vehicle production, emphasizing Lotus’s dedication to fostering environmental stewardship.[/vc_column_text]In a move toward transparency and accountability, Lotus Tech reported its greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental metrics in its first ESG report, which also outlined its commitment to reaching carbon neutrality by 2038.
