Udacity is the leader in helping professionals learn practical AI skills; hear from Udacity learners and executives as they share how people who harness the power of AI will be poised to shape a future defined by AI.
The prominence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has grown considerably since the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT 3.5 in 2022, and the discourse around AI has led many to fear that it will take their jobs. This mini-documentary from Udacity, part of Accenture, provides a way forward for those concerned about AI’s implications for the workforce. The film explains how people with the right skill sets will unlock AI’s potential for both society and the economy, and that rather than being displaced, those with the skills to harness AI will be highly sought after in the future workplace.
“There are a lot of people who are very worried that artificial intelligence will take their jobs,” explains Udacity CEO Kai Roemmelt. “It is clear that AI will impact a vast majority of jobs, but the focus should be less on displacement and instead on the opportunity that AI presents. We’re going to see people who use generative AI outperform people who don’t, and they’ll get access to more and better job opportunities.”
According to ADP’s People at Work Report, 85% of workers believe AI will impact their job in the next two or three years, and the World Economic Forum estimates that workers can expect 39% of their existing skill sets will be transformed or outdated by 2030. While the fear of obsolescence is understandable, businesses are actively seeking skilled AI talent. In fact, four out of five CEOs cite the inability to find qualified talent as their biggest barrier to growth. Those who develop AI skills will be in high demand.
Since its founding in 2010, Udacity has trained over 21 million professionals in technology fields, working with leading companies to upskill employees in AI, data science, programming, cybersecurity, and more. Unlike other online learning platforms, Udacity’s programs focus on hands-on, project-based learning, ensuring students gain practical experience applying AI in real-world scenarios. Learners also benefit from Udacity’s network of 1,000+ expert mentors, who provide personalized feedback and support.
One such learner, Adam Wright, a graduate of Udacity’s School of Artificial Intelligence, shares: “After being let go from my job, Udacity helped me gain the skills I needed to land a great new role as an AI product manager and work as an advisor to AI startups.”
The film showcases other Udacity students whose careers were transformed by AI education, reinforcing the message that those who embrace AI will shape the future rather than be left behind.
“AI is a revolution that cannot be stopped,” says Udacity founder and AI visionary Sebastian Thrun. For workers concerned about job security and business leaders striving to stay competitive, the solution is clear: invest in AI skills, and shape the future with AI.
