Limak Cement stands as a market leader in the global cement industry, with 11 cement plants and 28 ready-mix concrete facilities spanning Türkiye, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, and Dubai. With a robust production capacity of 18 million tons of cement and exports to 15 countries across four continents, we are committed to meeting the needs of today’s infrastructure while paving the way for a sustainable future.
Our operations go beyond cement production, focusing heavily on environmental responsibility and innovation. Limak Cement is fully aware of the environmental impact of the cement industry, which contributes approximately 7% of global CO2 emissions. Thus, sustainability is central to our strategic objectives. Our advanced cutting-edge technologies and sustainability goals align with the Limak Group’s overarching mission to reduce the industry’s environmental footprint and foster global progress.
Key milestones include the development of 3D printable concrete (3DC), formulated with our low-carbon CEMPLUS+ cement, which reduces carbon emissions while enhancing structural strength. This innovation not only allows for complex designs and rapid construction but also demonstrates Limak Cement’s strong commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the construction sector.
Further advancing our sustainability goals, we have become global pioneers in the use of hydrogen as fuel. We conducted Türkiye’s first 50% hydrogen-blended fuel test at our Limak Anka Cement Factory. This initiative is part of our broader aim to shift carbon neutral fuels into all our operations by 2030, potentially reducing 700,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
In addition to these initiatives, Limak Cement is leading efforts in the circular economy by utilizing construction and demolition waste (CDW) as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). Our accredited R&D center has enabled us to become the first company in Türkiye to produce cement from CDW, setting new standards for sustainability and innovation in the industry.
Our Triple Transformation Program (TTP)—focusing on sustainability, social digitalization, and human resources—further supports our ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. We are already on track to reduce our CO2 emissions by 36% by 2030, aligning with global efforts to limit temperature rise to 1.5°C.
Through continuous research and development, Limak Cement is committed to pioneering solutions that address the challenges of climate change, enhance global infrastructure, and drive innovation. Our efforts are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), underscoring our belief that for a better tomorrow, we must take action today.
